In The House of Hades, these characters are split up into multiple parties, with one pair of characters making their way through Tartarus to close the Doors of Death while the rest of the group travels to meet them on the other side, encountering monsters and side quests of their own along the way. Once you get used to the dynamic, this novel is incredibly enjoyable, with characters old and new traveling to Italy and Greece to save the world once more. One of the most enjoyable things about the Heroes of Olympus series is the way in which a handful of Greek demigods and a handful of Roman demigods are thrown together to fulfill a quest, and their differing backgrounds are shown to be both a benefit and a hindrance. ![]() ![]() ![]() But I did not actually follow that advice. I like to arrange the balls on a parchment lined pan so that when the final rise occurs, they will be touching each other. I use a knife to cut portions and then rather than rolling into a ball I simply smooth out the piece by stretching and folding the sides into the bottom with my thumbs. Once the rise is complete, I turn the dough out on parchment, trying to handle as little as possible. Sometimes it gets there in the designated time, sometimes it doesn’t. I ignore the timer on the bread machine and just wait until the dough is almost above the pan. It is rare, that you won’t have to add a bit of flour or a bit of milk to get that smooth ball. After initial mix, always check how the dough comes together. I use this recipe for the ingredients and then tweak as I need to. Baking bread or rolls isn’t as simple as following a recipe, as many factors can influence dough and rise. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fix-it Griffin and his friends is a page-turning adventure. The author's fans will be more than pleased." - Kirkus "This book is overflowing with energy, and each chapter ends with the promise of more excitement.
